SDI Dive Master

This is the first professional-level certification. During the course, you will learn how to work with divers, guide certified divers, and act as a dive guide, showing divers the marine life habitats at dive sites. You will enhance your knowledge of physics and physiology, as well as your diving and snorkeling skills.

Student Requirements:

Minimum age: 18 years
Advanced Adventure Diver SDI certification or equivalent; the advanced certification must include verifiable experience in deep diving, navigation, night diving, and limited visibility
Rescue Diver SDI certification or equivalent
Provide proof of CPR/RCP, first aid, and oxygen provider (where local laws permit)
Provide proof of at least 40 logged dives
Successfully complete a written exam for Divemaster SDI, either in-person or online, with a minimum score of 80% and 100% comprehension
Complete all Open Water requirements safely and efficiently
Demonstrate to an active SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor the ability to solve problems both in and out of the water
Demonstrate good judgment in planning and executing dives
Operate as a Divemaster in a wide range of environments
Fill out the SDI liability and medical forms
